The Five Most Dangerous Words Are:

"MAYBE  IT  WILL  GO  AWAY"

If you have been waiting for two weeks or more to see if any of your symptoms "will just go away", please consider the five word phrase above and get your symptoms checked out rather than ignore them. We feel it is better to be safe than sorry.

Make Your Appointment by phone

Please call us at (604) 534-9121 to make an appointment. We kindly request that you not leave appointment booking requests on our voice mail system. A direct discussion with a staff member will allow us to help you in a more efficient and timely manner.

Make Your Appointment in Person

You may find it more convenient to come in to the clinic to talk directly with one of our staff who will be able to answer any questions you may have and then can make your appointment.

We are available to serve you weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00pm, and Saturdays between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Please note we are closed on Sundays and on all Statutory Holidays. No referral is required to book an appointment to see one of our Naturopathic Physicians or Midwives.

Whichever method you choose, we would be glad to book an appointment for you to see one of the Family Health Clinic doctors or midwives at a time that is convenient for you.

Rescheduling an Appointment

Please be advised: Due to the fact that our Doctors' and Midwives' schedules are usually very busy and out of consideration for the many patients eager to book appointments, we require you to notify us by telephone at least 2 working days (48 hours) prior to your scheduled visit if you need to make any changes to your appointment, otherwise a late cancellation fee will be charged. Giving us at least 48 hours notice will provide us with sufficient time to contact and schedule appointments for other patients who are waiting. We do however, understand that unexpected illness and emergencies occur and we will accommodate for those instances. Thank you for your consideration.
Please call (604) 534-9121 to reserve or change your appointment. We do not book or change appointments by email.

Length of Visits

Besides your first office visit, your return office visits can be scheduled for the following lengths. Our staff will be able to assist you in choosing the best type of visit for your needs.

  • Brief visit - 15 minutes or less - good for acute illness or short time requirements

  • Regular visit - up to 30 minutes - our most common length and type of return visit

  • Extended visit - up to 45 minutes - when more time is needed for a very thorough examination, or when we need to go over other items in great detail.

  • Prolonged visit - up to 60 minutes - can be used as a "substitute" for a first visit after someone hasn't been in to see the doctor for many years and there is a lot to catch up on.

Number of Visits Needed

The number and frequency of follow-up visits will depend on the severity of the condition being treated, how long you have had it, your vitality and your dedication to getting better. For example, in an acute illness such as respiratory illness or a flu you may require only one or two visits. Solving health problems of long standing conditions may take a series of visits spread out over a number of months.

Subsequent follow-up visits are extremely important so that your Naturopathic Doctor can monitor your progress, update or adjust your treatment protocol and discuss any concerns as they come up. Once well, many patients see us only once a year for an annual check-in or tune-up, similar to seeing their dentist or eye doctor.
